VINTAGE 1942-1946 GRANDPA WRITINGS #2 FAITH Faith, they say, is what we need in days the like of these, Faith in god and in his power, with prayer on bended knees, Hope expressed for better times, belief in after life, Knowledge of the Good Book’s views, religion to battle strife, ** But I say “NO”, be bothered not, forget these things unknown, Better understand this world, and take it for your own, Educate yourself and those that aren’t as wise as thee, In all the wondrous worldly things that you have yet to see. ** Have faith that someday man can live his time upon this earth, Without these wars and sicknesses that seem to find their birth, In hate and fear discussed so much by so-called holy folk, Who scare both child and adult minds with doctrines they invoke. ** Teach love and faith in man, my friends, for solely in his mind, Resides the peace and happiness we struggle now to find. ******************
