LUCY'S
LUNKERS
You
all know Lucy Groebe by now, she's married to a guy named "Chuck",
He has this reputation now that no one has more luck,
Not long ago the two of them, together with their wonderful kids, 2 and 4,
Traveled 'way up north to Delta Lodge, 400 miles or
more,
Settled in the happy quartet were snuggled like bugs in a worn-out rug,,
Chuck, to get the boys down to the pier, didn't need to
tug,
He has the idea,, like his brother John, that catching fish ' is a snap,
Lucy has her doubts about this, decides to set a trap,
She said to herself "I think that pole, line, and hook might do",
"But I want to try my way and see what I can
do",
So look out fish this gal is out to prove she's not meek and mild,
Besides in Poland she used a method while she was just a
child,
She searched the cabin up and down to find the proper gear,
With this in hand she took after Chuck, who was fishing off
the pier,
She dipped this receptacle into the take, low enough for the fish to see,
With breadcrumbs spread around about, how easy it would be,
And sure enough the fish they came in to grab this easy food,
And Lucy quickly jerked it up, she thought she caught the
whole brood,
But the fish were quicker than she would ever have thought,
And nary a one of these little fellows she ever caught ,
She was persistent, she wanted Teddy and Tommy to see that it works,
But not one fish did she bring despite her many, desperate
jerks,
So she's resigned to this now, she'll try to make a tasty Italian pasta,
It's really a much better use than fishing with her Polish
"scolapasto ".
