Hersheys kiss.jpg  2009 Holiday Letter

Our holiday letter is a little harder to write this year.  My Dad, Gordon A. Groebe passed away in November and will be missed by lots of people.  The blessings in his life included his wife Lilian and their eleven children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, a great community of business friends and associates, a loving family of brothers and sisters, and an adoring second wife and partner Ginger.  Will and I will fondly remember our Christmas Eve dinners with him;  his advice, his political/religious opinions, his jokes, and his passion for golf, fishing, bowling, sport teams, cribbage, real estate, law, dogs, kids, friends and family. It is impossible to bundle 87 years into one paragraph but this very human man,  father,  husband, and veteran of foreign wars, will always remind us of our unique potential.

Will and I are still at home in Flossmoor, and considering the real estate market we will probably be here golfing, gardening, and hosting grandchildren, family and friends for quite some time. We plan on stoking the fireplace for the cold weather and sneaking off to Mexico in January for a brief stay from the cold.  Our trip to Mexico in May with my brother John and wife Lynn and my sister Kim and her husband Dave renewed our love for that country.

Will was back to golf this year after a scary prostate procedure, but he and his golf game are doing great!   Golf, theater, opera, bridge, gardening, and stamps are my retirement hobbies that keep me entertained.  Dear friends and family are blessings in our lives.

Will and I hope that each of you can share with us the joys of good health, fun activities, family, and friends in the New Year.
Our wish is that this Holiday season will bring you wonders beyond compare.

Happy Y2k10

Alexis and Will Kneeland
